The justice system involved in the control of impaired driving encompasses enforcement, prosecution, adjudication by the courts and monitoring by probation and parole. It is a complex system and not everyone clearly recognizes the main goals it aims to accomplish, the roles of the different professionals in the system, or how it functions as a whole.
